I was a little nervous about going to the Angler because of the reviews, but had gone a couple years ago and had a positive experience so I tried it again. We sat outside. It was raining, but the outside was covered and was much cooler then inside. The dining room (you have to walk through it to get outside) was nice. I had the crab legs and my mom got the ribs and crab legs. Each entree came with two sides. My crab legs were very good. They have a decent menu of fresh fish as well. This place has a great view of the marina and bay and we watched the bridge go up for the big boats to go through. A good experience.

Sat at our table for over 15 minutes and never saw a waitress. Had to leave without even eating.

I'm not quite sure why the Angler is getting sub par reviews. When I dined here with my mother, I couldn't have had a more pleasant experience. Service was friendly, personable and accommodating. Management approached us a few times to "check up" and seemed friendly and personable as well... Food was perfect. My mother ordered the fish and chips which were crispy and flaky but not greasy. I went for the wild salmon with herbed risotto which was perfect by my standards. As I love a good cup of Maryland crab soup, I enjoyed a bowl of that on the side as well. Afterwards, we were invited to take a cruise on the Angler...a 45 minute ride down the bay and a part of the ocean.... very nice! This restaurant also has nice views of the marina and some of the boats on the bay. Dine at sunset for the best view! We did. Reservations aren't required. We were walk-ins and were seated immediately during the dinner hour. Still... it does not hurt to make them!

I would give this place negative stars if I could. My boyfriend and I were on a trip up in Ocean City and decided to check this place out. Huge mistake. No one was in the restaurant so we were seated right away. When we sat down we were greeted and asked about drinks. We both ordered soda and were brought them quickly. As I took a sip of my drink I immediately spit it out. The machine had run out of my soda and just gave me the terrible tasting water. I called our waitress over and asked if I could actually get my soda. She apologized and took it back. When we got our food, it looked pretty appetizing until we actually ate it. My prime rib was overcooked and disgustingly bland. My boyfriend got the surf and turf. His steak was the same as mine and his lobster tail was rubbery. Also, our steak knives were old and dull and could barely cut through our food without tearing it to shreds. We paid $80 for a terrible meal for two that could have been spent at an amazing restaurant back home. To be honest, this place is not even worth a look at with the way our experience went.

I can't remember the last time I had such terrible service. I had to wait 20 minutes for water and 45 minutes for the complementary bread. I can't speak of the food because I still haven't received it and it's been an hour. I will not be returning.

An Ocean City tradition since 1938. This restaurant is a must visit when in Ocean City. Awesome breakfast, great happy hour at the bayfront bar, where you can watch the fishing boats arrive with their daily catch, and they serve best seafood in town... everything is fresh, and very well prepared. Don't forget to take the coastline cruise after your dinner... it is a great way to end the day, after a super meal.

Horrible. Although the service is quite friendly, the food is an absolute disgrace. I have never eaten a steak so bland and dry before. Their jumbo shrimp was about as flavorful as deep fried cardboard.

On the one hand, the setting is nice, the service was very friendly, and the crab dip and flounder entree were quite good. But the other dishes at our table were really sub-par, and the fried shrimp basket was pretty awful. At $40 per person, our dinner didn't represent a good value. On balance, we should have waited the 90 minutes and gone to Fishtails.
